Autism: One Mother’s Remarkable Journey

Person arching backwards underwater towards the light

Kinta Gitsham is an ordinary mother whose experience of motherhood has taken an extraordinary course. She is a stay-at-home mother of three who came to view gut health as an answer to many of the problems her family faced. In Kinta’s words: ‘Do not judge me. You could not handle half of what I have been through. There is a reason I do the things I do. There is a reason I am who I am.’ Listen to her personal story on the Mums The Word Podcast.

Trust your instincts

Kinta and her youngest child, Archie, had both been taking strong medication, and Kinta reached a point where she nearly gave up on life. After years of searching and refusing to give up hope, she says she found many answers by focusing on gut health, reducing chemical exposure and eating nutritious, whole foods.

The road to recovery

By following her ‘gut instinct’ and addressing the family’s extensive digestive problems and inflammation, Kinta says that she and Archie began a significant recovery, stopped taking their medication and started to thrive again.

Raising awareness

She is now passionate about raising awareness, helping as many people as possible understand that they are not alone and pointing them towards places where they may find help and support.

Kinta shares her story and mission in the episode. Listen and learn.
