Making your own home birth drink, will ensure that you’re only getting the good stuff. Here is our recipe for a delish isotonic homebirth energy drink. If you like you can make ice cubes and throw them in your water whenever you like.
Recipe Isotonic Energy Drink
44ml grapefruit
chunk of raw ginger
450ml water
3tsp honey
Directions: Add a few thin slices of ginger to a large cup of boiled water and let it sit until the flavour has infused. Remove the slices of ginger and squeeze in the grapefruit, then stir in the honey. Let it cool before pouring into your drinks bottle and leaving in the fridge to chill.
Another natural option here. Ginger has been noted as having a high number of health benefits, particularly its anti-inflammatory properties, which is something it shares with natural grapefruit juice. So, it’s a good, healthy drink, which also has a hit of vitamin C in it as well. If you want even more benefits, use manuka honey in your mixture.
PS not up for hustling your own energy drink. Coconut water is nature’s natural energy drink, ssstttt.
