Our Pregnancy Yoga Teacher
Eva Willemijn
I have always been inspired by health, the human body and movement. Therefore I have always been dancing and doing yoga and in the last 12 years done several yoga and movement therapy workshops and trainings”
For the first time, 14 years ago, Eva came into contact with yoga whilst travelling in New Zealand. And that is where her love for yoga began. Since then she has practiced yoga with several great teachers such as Max Strom, Martin Kirk, Sarah Powers and Francoise Barbara Freedman.
Eva holds a Masters degree in Cultural and Environmental Anthropology. During and after her Master’s degree she has lived, studied and worked for extended periods in several countries: Ecuador, Peru, Thailand, Bali, Norway, Sweden and Switzerland.
In 2006 she completed her 300 Hr yoga teacher training (Yoga Alliance) in Thailand. Following that she was trained in prenatal yoga (zwangerschapsyoga) by Francoise Barbira Freedman and in voice and movement therapy by Patricia Bardi. Currently she is training to be a Doula.
Pregnancy and birth are a very important time for both the mother and child. Therefore Eva has chosen to support pregnant women with prenatal counseling and yoga classes in this extremely important part of their life. The classes are focused on the contact between mother and child, on the possibilities of the body during pregnancy and with several yoga positions (asanas) and breathing techniques which are also good preparation for birth itself.
This class is for beginners and more advanced yogis. For women that already practice yoga on a regular basis it is a great supplement to the regular practice.
